Terms & Conditions

Sewing Machine Service & Repairs: 

  • During the 3 month guarantee period if your machine is found to be in need of attention owing to problems caused through faulty components and or poor workmanship, return the machine to the shop and we will repair it free of charge and then return it to yourself at no additional cost. 

  • Unfortunately, we cannot provide a warranty on motors and foot controls.

  • ​This DOES NOT affect your statutory consumer rights and will apply only to machines purchased for use in the UK mainland, and used for normal domestic purposes. It does not, however, cover standard serviceable items such as:   

  • needles;

  • bobbins;

  • light bulbs;

  • loopers;

  • belts;

  • blades

  • or misuse.

  • Very often, problems on sewing machines and overlockers are down to user error. Customers who have purchased from The Sewing Machine Guy can use email for free help and advice. 

  • If we find that your machine is in need of workshop attention we will endeavour to have it returned to you within 10 working days of receiving it. 

  • People who profit from domestic sewing machines i.e. for a cottage industry and/or business purposes will invalidate their guarantee. 

  • Domestic machines can only be used for household and/or personal use. 

  • Your guarantee will also be void if you attempt to repair the product yourself or with/by a third party.

  • We reserve the right to amend, without notice: prices, description and / or details of all products and offers displayed in our online shop. All prices and offers shown on this site are subject to stock availability.

  • The product photographs generated for the website are for illustrative purposes only and in no way constitute an exact representation of the product concerned. All measurements are approximate.

  • All colours of products shown on this website are intended for use as a guide and are not guaranteed to be accurate, as we have no control as to how they will display on your computer or device.

  • Each product is carefully examined prior to dispatch. 

  • No claim will be entertained once the fabric has been used or cut in any way or in any production process. 

  • Please note we do NOT accept returns of fabrics cut to order

  • If returning goods, they must be returned with all the original contents and packaging in new condition.  

  • Items delivered must arrive back with us within 28 working days of receiving delivery of goods.

  • We cannot not accept responsibility for the loss or damage of any product being returned by the customer, therefore we recommend you use a secure and insured parcel delivery service.

  • Delivery/Collection costs will not be credited.  If an item is returned to us, we have the right to deduct the packaging and postage costs from the refund back to the customer
